A month in review |October|

life on instagram october 2013

I’ve been quite busy this month (knitting wise). I thought it could be interesting to document each month with pictures that I took on Instagram. When I’m at home, I don’t use my big camera. Usually, I just prefer to take some phtographs with my cellphone.
For those of you how have instagram, you can follow me there, and for those who don’t, here’s a sneak peek of my month!

• I’ve spent some valuable time, playing with kitties and yarn
• I created my first “design”: a fall knitted garland
• I rearranged some space in the my flat’s empty room, and turned it into a tiny studio
• Walking around in Riga, mostly for the night market, but also searching for good yarn shops!
• Finished my October’s hat: Laurel from Jared Flood
• I’ve been working like a crazy ant on my etsy shop, and sent my creations in different countries
• I received a custom order, and made a hat with the softess yarn ever
• Decided to knit myself a little clutch but realized that I was supposed to add a zip before sewing the inner fabric…
• Ive been testing one of A la french last design: the chunky Chunky!

I hope that your month was as good as mine! Happy November! What are you looking forward to this month?

Enjoying the Fall

I’m enjoying the Fall so much these days! I like to wake up at dawn, when everything is still quiet, and head out to the woods.  The birds and their morning symphony, the color of the leaves, the smell of the forest inspire me for the day. And when I’m lucky enough, I can pick up some wild berries to add to my porridge for breakfast.

Back home, I clean up the flat a bit, and start preparing a “seasonnal meal”. In the whole flat, the kitchen is my favourite place to be right now. I bought some pumpkins and other squash to display on my window side.  There’s a pretty autumn decoration hanging next to the door (I will share this project very soon). The crème brulé coffee and the dark cherry coffee that I brew along the day, diffuse the most amazing smell (I will start preparing some pumpkin spice latte soon too!).

With my mug filled with the most delicious coffee, I like to catch up my emails and read blogs, find some inspiration for my day on pinterest… The other day, I received the most beautiful planner on earth. I like to be organized and right down my ideas as they tend to vanish as fast as they appeared.

This Fall, I’m looking forward to:

– Share a decoration project with you guys.
– Drink a lot of homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte.
– Find new recipes with squash and nuts.
– Take beautiful pictures of the fall.
– Knit my October hat.
– Learn more about mushrooms.
– More outdoor activities (I wish I could carry you with me in my adventures)

What are you looking forward to this fall?
Do you have any good fall/ autumn movie to recommend me?
